The last few nights had been foggy so I wasn’t being too hopeful about getting a good shot of the lunar eclipse this year. I also left my laptop at work, so focusing was going to be fun. A quick test on the full moon before going to bed worked OK. My longest lens is only 200mm but a 1:1 crop produced a reasonable image.
My alarm went off at 4:30am but I ignored it. Curiosity got the better of me and I got up at 5:00 to see if the sky was clear. It was. After a few clumsy test shots and testing different ISO/ shutter speed combinations I came up with one shot that I liked.
I put the moon over on the right to include a few of the brighter stars nearby. I started a time lapse sequence but the clouds rolled in shortly after I took this so that’s all folks 😉
